Being new to the Uncharted series; and the PS3 I went in without any expectations of Uncharted 3. Right from the get go, Uncharted had my attention; it's cinematic style, gorgeous visuals and superb voice acting blew my breath away. Being someone who had not played Uncharted 1 or 2 this was all quite new to me. The characters were all fully fleshed out, designed and were represented perfectly; something you very rarely see in video games nowadays. The storyline was deep and had some pretty interesting twists thrown in for good measure. The locations and the scenery was lush, vibrant and detailed and no two areas were exactly alike.
As for gameplay, well I can honestly say theres not really any other game out there that can present a video game the way Naughty Dog have. They have managed to craft out such a detailed world; all based mostly off real life locales as well as keep an interesting and intriguing plot line that will have you guessing right till the very end.
Multiplayer mode was a tonne of fun, everything from the character customization to the level design was splendid. In multiplayer mode you were able to play characters from the storyline as well as the villians but also able to customize and make your own online avatar; which was somewhat limited but still pretty cool none the less.
This game has it all; storyline, visuals, character development and multiplayer to go along with it. I can really tell how much blood, sweat and tears went into making this game and series come to life and Naughty Dog have really upped the platform genre to the next level. As the Review summary says, this game deserves more then Game of the Year it deserves an Oscar.
Ever since i bought and finished all 3 uncharted games my love for this series just keeps on growing. Naughty Dog have trully delivered an excellent experience with this game and this series, the characters are amazing and what really drive the story and they are what make me love this series so much, having brilliant set pieces and fluid combat this game is easily a must have WELL DONE NAUGHTY DOG!!
Undoubtfully one of the best games of the decade, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception could be mistaken for a full-blown Hollywood blockbuster! The action is unparrelled and the story is touching and exciting. the graphics are some of the best of any console yet and the gameplay is smooth and very enjoyable.
What can I say about Uncharted 3 that no has said yet? This is a beautiful game, your eyes will cry because of the best graphics on a ps3,the story is great, the characters are really deep and have their own tempers.
A must buy if you've played the 2 other games!
The third installment of Uncharted didn't dissapoint resulting in a 4/5 from me. The graphics are amazing a good step forward from Among Thieves which didn't have bad graphics itself. Some of the cutscenes in this game actually look real, the characters and expressions, the lighting, as well as the environment are so realistic. The musical score is reasonably enganging and syncs in well with gameplay as it did in the previous few games. The gameplay is great with so much interaction which made this series so fun in the first place and has a few extra add ons from the previous games like moving through narrow gaps and the ability to throw back grenades. The only thing I didn't like about this game is that it isn't all that difficult. I'd say it's a bit easier than Drake's Fortune which was in my opinion an adequate level for a casual gamer, but a lot easier than Among Thieves which was quite a challenge. This is because there were a lot more enemies in the first two games and the second game had an increased difficulty with the heavily armoured guards with mini-guns. Commonplace in the series has been that Drake encounters supernatural enemies of some sort (zombie like creatures in the first game, and well I suppose that is sort of a fitting description of the creatures encountered in the second game as well) and this game continues with this theme with fiery demonic enemies confronting Drake towards the end of this game but again these enemies were not as difficult as those in the previous two games. Also there is only one boss battle in this game. That being said the running and jumping and all the escapes from dangerous scenarios was the thing I enjoyed most about this series which means the fighting difficulty was not too much of a let down, in truth I found Among Thieves a bit too full of difficult fighting when I wanted to be parkouring around the stunning environments, but I would still say it could have been made more difficult. Excellent job overall.
